Luther and His Inner Circle
This series was commissioned by Rev. Mark Loest of Frankentrost, Michigan. Most of the original paintings are the same size, which is reflected in the available sizes. Martin and Katie, however, are a bit larger. The portraits were intended to face “inward” – either to the left or right. In a Cranach-like move, I finally created, as a gift to the patron, the “Crucifixion with Patron and Artist.” This was larger yet than Martin and Katie, and is the focus of all of the sitters.

“Paul Gerhardt”
This image is obviously different than the other ‘Lutheran movers and shakers.’ It was a special commission depicting the Lutheran confessor, who came after Luther, and in an iconic style.
